Her goofy, money obsessed cousin Gawain (seriously, Gawain) has been trying to compromise Mary to get his hands on her dowry money. Mary's Grandmother & her close friends have been helping Mary hide and have decided if she marries all will end well. These amazing ladies are the best matchmakers ever, they don't miss a trick. Think of master chess players, seven moves ahead.Our hero is the Honorable (very) Christopher "Kit" Featherton and the Grandson of one of our matchmakers. Poor guy, he's doomed. Kit learns someone has moved into one of his estates and it's Mrs. Featherton?. Kit is pretty sure he isn't married so what's up. When he discovers who his "wife" is he's pretty pleased. He's still put out with old ladies but then again they've sent him to the one woman he can see a future with. When he hears the whole story he understands his "wife" must marry him or risk total ruination.
Lady Mary doesn't think our Kit is interested in her since he won't even kiss her. With the help of friends and the Grandmothers Mary plots a trip to Scotland for their marriage mart season. She may be resigned to spinsterhood but her heart still wants true love and a family. Kit's got a tough time ahead of him but he must convince Mary that he's the man for her. Their future happiness depends on success.
There are side stories that work perfectly with this story and the Marriage Game series. Ella Quinn has included lovely secondary characters and some will pop up along the trail of the series. I hope you decide to partake of the Marriage Game series. They're wonderfully written and flow well from one book to another but each stands up alone very nicely. As I always write, happy endings are a must. We'd revolt if it didn't happen. Enjoy and happy reading.

I gave this book a four star rating because it lacked an epilogue otherwise I would recommend this book to all romantic's because it had all the elements of a good read.
If you want a slow walk to mild romance, this is the read for you. I could not amble but 1/4 through the story until I stopped. I could care less if these two dullards find romance at the end of 30 chapters.
Was a good story line . Liked the concept but i thought it took way too long for both to act on their feelings.
I like this author and I might get a different book another chance but this story was lacking for me, it started nice and ended ok but It just lacked something. I still like the author and will try another book from her.
Very funny and entertaining. It was refreshing to read about a hero and heroine who are a little shy and reticent. I love bold personalities but I do not possess one so it was nice to read a love story about people more like me.
I enjoyed this book and the storyline very much. For much of the book it feels like a Georgette Heyer story, lost it about 3/4's through. Can't quite explain. I did enjoy the other two couples and their romance, their stories did not take away anything from the main couple. There is very little sex and only that after the couple married. Ella Quinn is an excellent writer and you can't go wrong with one of her books, especially at the cost of them.
I really enjoyed this lovely story. There were some funny scenes and some poignant scenes as well. I really liked Mary and Kit and how their romance started off slowly and built up. Their interfering grandmothers were a hoot. The scene toward the end when Uncle Hector and Mary are re-united made me wonder if he might have Alzheimer's. This was a very touching scene. I loved catching up with the characters from previous books. Although Book 4 is still my favorite, I liked this one a lot. I love the cover. One problem I saw was that two characters had almost the same name--one was Simon and another was Simons, which was a little confusing.
I'm looking forward to the next book, but not to waiting a year until it comes out (sigh).
